Within the “Image Radio Transmissions” on Wednesday September 9 a series of live online performances is presented in Smalle Haven 2 Eindhoven.
From the 20-hour 090909 festival, 8 performances are shown here between 3pm and 9pm. The RL access node Eindhoven provides a physical venue for people to watch screenings of the performances, and interact via public computers.
A number of artists have previously created work in UpStage editions. As with previous UpStage festivals, there promises to be something for everyone. Themes include time, salvation, city life, and explorations of cyberformance and collaborative creativity. The artists have drawn inspiration from improv theatre, mythology, fairy tales, absurdist theatre, poetry, daily life and media theory.

UpStage is a web-based venue for online performance; it is an open source server application that has been in development since 2003. The second version of the software was developed with funding from the Community Partnership Fund of the New Zealand government’s Digital Strategy and released in June 2007.
